COVID-19 and Community Organizing
Worldwide, news of community organising and action in the face of Covid-19 has been inspiring.
Much coverage of community mobilisation globally has focused on the importance of boosting morale and reinforcing humanity’s kindness in these times. We see that there is much our communities still need.
Gaps left by the government have created the overwhelming need for local community responses and action, particularly responses targeted at serving its most vulnerable members: those of us who are un/under employed, elderly, disabled, immunocompromised, undocumented. Yet there continue to be few and far between resources for community leaders.
Community spotlight
The point of Community Spotlight is to highlight the work of leaders who are committed to helping create an environment that not only combats disease, but also promotes wellness.
